2017 Auditions

with No Comments

Velocity Handbell Ensemble, a 501(c)(3) music organization based in Oakland, California, will hold its annual auditions for advanced ringers on Saturday, August 26, 2017.

Velocity auditions for new ringers each summer and is looking to expand its membership by two to three ringers. The recently formed full choir currently performs as a professional ensemble for hire, and plans to become a mentor ensemble to Bay Area youth groups. The group rehearses a minimum of one Saturday a month (for approximately 8 hours) for ten months out of the year, and accepts performances at the availability of the ringers. In addition to performances for hire, Velocity will play at least one concert per year.

Interested ringers should have strong sight reading abilities, ring advanced level music, have a strong work ethic and be professional. The Velocity rehearsal space is a designated “drama-free” zone, and ringers who need constant attention will find this environment a challenge.

Please contact P.L. Grove, Velocity Artistic Director, at velocity@velocitybells.org if you or someone you know is interested in scheduling an audition. Auditions will be held in Hayward, California, and will involve both a sight reading audition and an interview. Auditionees will be assigned a specific audition time closer to the audition date.
