Kiriku 2009 East Coast Tour

Kiriku Handbell Ensemble is an incredibly talented group that somehow manages to play five and a half octaves of handbells with only six ringers. The group plays a variety of music, including classical, religious, jazz, popular, and traditional Japanese. Their moving and expressive concerts are popular throughout Japan, and they approach each piece of music with impeccable technique and musicality. Kiriku has recorded several CDs, played numerous television performances, and has a growing fan base in their country, but their main goal is to further the art and quality of handbell music.

In 2007, Kiriku completed their first United States tour, traveling the length of the West Coast from Los Angeles to Seattle, astonishing audiences and receiving thunderous applause and multiple standing ovations. They will return to the U.S. this spring – sponsored in part by Malmark and, once again, sponsored by Velocity Handbell Ensemble – and will perform live in a one-night-only concert up and down the East Coast.

Velocity Handbell Ensemble is extremely grateful to the concert hosts of the nine concerts on this tour, and encourages individuals to help support the tour by clicking here to purchase a Kiriku CD. If you are anywhere near one of the locations on this tour, you will NOT want to miss this concert!
